Snow Day!

Local Caplock* honey in my oatmeal this morning, along with a steaming cup o’ French vanilla coffee and a little reminder that spring is just around the corner.

Perfect breakfast for a snow day.

And colors so yummy I just couldn’t help but engage in an impromptu après breakfast photo session!

*CAPLOCK HONEY: treatment-free, cultivated by bee guys extraordinaire Chuck Pourciau and David Matlock, and some of which came from bees relocated from -- yes -- our very own parlor bay window.

Ladies in Waiting

The weather man (a.k.a. the Weather Channel app on my phone) says we are in for a few very wintery days in the week ahead, including maybe some snow(!), so in the midst of STILL packing and cleaning and sorting and otherwise preparing for our move -- yes, I’m still at it but I see a glimmer of light at the end of this tunnel -- I decided to take advantage of the last couple of days of springy temps to get out and gather some daffodils!

These little bundles of sunshine are now sitting on my kitchen table waiting to be made into gift bouquets.

And probably a painting or two. Or three. Soon.

Now that we are so close to our move, I’m really itching to getting back to the easel!

Daffodil Time!
… plus a beautiful new Lily

We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely Valentine’s Day here in the Arklatex, and what a wonderful surprise when we got word that our beautiful new niece, Lily Grace, had arrived early this morning. My first niece and my parents’ first granddaughter. Woo-hoo!

Here’s Lily Grace with her Daddy and six big brothers, aka “The Little Sister Security Crew.”

Congratulations, Sis!
