Driving through northern New Mexico into southern Colorado, I kept seeing painting after painting flashing through my imagination. I love these picturesque clusters of ranch buildings looking so tiny in the distance, nestled in the foothills of the Rockies. This particular ranch was surrounded by miles of wild lavender and other flowers blooming at the height of summer.

And now, back to watching the Olympics with my husband, surrounded by various and sundry sleepy dogs.

Later, taters!

Love the colours in this one....could almost be Scotland though probably a tad warmer :)

I've been a bit distracted by the Olmpics too...but they've been wonderful!

Thank you, Elizabeth ... Can hardly wait to get to Scotland one of these summers, so I can see for myself :)
It did warm up nicely during the days, though the mornings were a bit chilly for my blood ... I wore my Louisiana winter coat to outdoor breakfast at the campground!
I agree the Olympics have been exciting ... I admit I've been playing hooky a little too much too watch ... thank goodness they're through on Sunday so I won't have any more excuse not to get back to work.
